The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a full-time Chief MRI Technologist to work in Deerfield Beach. The Chief MRI Technologist maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance with State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives, and philosophy.

The Chief MRI Technologist is accountable for the efficient patient throughput and 24-hour supervisory responsibility of the department and of all departmental staff members' scheduling, technical guidance, and performance improvement. The Chief MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/job functions as required of an MRI Technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
  • Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
  • Contributes to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Responsible for hiring, discipline, and promotion of department staff.
  • Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
  • Manages scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
  • Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
  • Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer
  • ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
