We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including tracking costs, budgets, and cash flow. This position is responsible for recording transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all projects, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Record and process all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and payroll.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, comparing actual costs to planned costs, and forecasting future project expenses.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, including ensuring timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and budget adherence.
- Utilize Sage 300 and other relevant tools to manage financial data.
- Enter financial data into accounting software accurately and efficiently.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements.
- Prepare and file tax returns and other tax-related documents.
- Prepare accurate, timely project cost reports focusing around variances, costs of materials and labor, month end accruals, and journal entries in accordance with company's established schedule.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities in making business recommendations based on analysis.
- Plan and record variable costs.
- Ensure projects are on track and profitable by managing Work In Progress (WIP) Reports.
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of experience preferably construction or manufacturing accounting.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in recording and managing financial transactions.
- Experience with Sage 300.
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Accuracy and precision in recording and managing financial data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
