The candidate should have experience in education/federal regulations. Following are areas of responsibility:
Accounting
- Process and post all cash receipts, cash disbursements, revenues, and expenses in the accounting system in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Review and analyze leases, contracts, and other transactions to ensure proper recording
- Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements
- Continue to implement new leases and reconcile existing leases according to new lease standards
Payroll
- Prepare and distribute W-2s
- Complete quarterly payroll reconciliations
Grant Financial Management
- Track grant expenditures and recognize revenue on an actual basis
- Assess whether grant restrictions are fulfilled
- Prepare forms for all Title, ESSER, and ARP funding
Financial Reporting & Budgeting
- Prepare monthly financial report packages that may include: Budget vs Actuals with projections, Cash Flow with projections, and Balance Sheet.
- Present financial reporting to Leadership and/or the Finance Committee (attendance at more meetings may be required)
- Attend all board meetings and finance committee meetings to present the budget
- Create and recommend edits for the annual budget
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting required by the school's authorizer
- Prepare budget templates for submission to the school's authorizer
- Review 1099s
Audit & 990 Preparations (Current and Prior Year)
- Prepare closing of the books for the end of the fiscal year
- Participate in audit planning with school leadership and auditors
- Support with finalizing interim audit testing deliverables
- Search for recording liabilities
- Prepare Restricted Net Assets scheduled
- Prepare the statement of Functional expenses
- Prepare all requested audit schedules
- Work with auditors to record all adjusting entries
- Finalize Trial Balance with school Leadership and auditors
- Assist with 990 questionnaire preparation
- Review and suggest edits for the 990 completed by auditors
Grant Support
- Provide school leaders with guidance and background on the Title I, II, III, and IV application process and usage of funding as well as related compliance regulations
- Identify applicable salaries and other allowable expenditures
- Draft all required components of the Consolidated Application, including Title I, II, III, and IV (if applicable) narratives, budget narratives, budget forms (FS-10s), supplemental materials, and the Level 1 Addendum, if required
- Work with the school's leadership team to edit and finalize all required components and secure necessary signatures
- Submit FS-10A form upon release of final allocations
Charter Application/ Renewal Support
- Draft multi-year budgets, the five-year operating budget, the current year budget, and a statement of cash position that meet all criteria for the charter application to the charter school authorizer
- Review the financial narrative and guide content as needed
- Educate the funding group on industry norms related to expenditures for curriculum, facilities, personnel, and operations as well as income sources including federal, state, and local assistance
- Revise budgets as needed, recommend edits, and assist with finalizing the budgets
- Provide review and feedback on the FPP manual

Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position based at Cardinal McCloskey Community Charter School
- Standard working hours are 7:20 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during payroll periods or busy finance cycles may be required.
