What you'll be doing
NCC seeks a Chief Engineer - Defence (Digital Transformation) to join its expanding defence sector engineering team. As a nationally impactful leader, you will play a key role in establishing NCC and the wider High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC) Defence Digital Technology Strategy. You will build strong relationships with the MoD, industry, and academia, overseeing the technical governance of all digital transformation projects delivered by NCC for UK Defence organisations.
What we're looking for
We seek a multi-disciplined, experienced engineer focused on identifying, developing, and exploiting digital technologies beneficial to UK Defence. Preferred candidates will have experience in some (but not necessarily all) of the following areas:
- Artificial intelligence and HPC
- Autonomous systems
- Digital twinning for manufacturing and materials development
- Simulation, modelling, and computational analysis
- Sensing and data retrieval in manufacturing and service, IoT
- Information technology systems and cyber security
The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring and developing a high-performing engineering team, enhancing NCC's digital technologies capabilities, and supporting defence-digital initiatives across the wider HVMC.
Security clearance
The position requires successful completion of MoD Security Clearance.
