Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional digital leader to join our unitary Board (non-voting) and Executive Leadership Team as Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), reporting to our CEO Karen Howell OBE. This pivotal role is at the heart of our digital transformation journey, leading innovation, data strategy, and IT operations to enhance mental health care and patient outcomes.
As CDIO, you will drive the Trust's digital vision and strategy, advancing our digital capabilities and becoming a data-driven, digitally mature organisation aligned with national priorities and community needs. You will oversee digital technologies, cyber security, and the optimisation of our Electronic Patient Record, while promoting inclusive digital access and smarter working methods across services.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence care at scale, collaborate with system partners across Greater Manchester and nationally, and position GMMH as a centre of excellence for digital innovation in mental health.
Main duties of the job
- Proven experience as a senior digital leader in a complex organisation, ideally within healthcare or public services.
- Experience in setting and translating strategic visions into operational plans, delivering large-scale digital transformations and managing capital programmes.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing, cross-functional technical teams, establish KPIs, and enhance performance and capabilities.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, including Board level, with strong communication and influencing abilities.
- Knowledge of emerging digital trends such as AI, data analytics, and digital health, including regulatory and ethical considerations.
- Understanding of security issues and processes within the industry.
- Experience in supplier management, improving performance standards, and delivering value for money.
