The GV Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Cardiology to lead our Cardiology Department and provide exceptional care to our nation s Veterans. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a talented team of cardiologists and contribute to advancing cardiovascular care in a compassionate, mission-driven environment.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Salary range: $200,000 - $400,000 per year
- Location: Jackson, Mississippi
- Position eligible for EDRP (Education Debt Reduction Program), offering up to $200,000 in student loan reimbursement for qualified candidates.
- Full-Time Monday - Friday 07:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee clinical and administrative functions within the Cardiology Department.
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative cardiology care models.
- Provide expert care for Veterans with cardiovascular conditions and supervise a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve quality of care, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and provide guidance to cardiology residents, fellows, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified Cardiologist with experience in clinical and leadership roles.
- Strong commitment to serving Veterans and improving healthcare outcomes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
