Position Summary:


The Chief Administrative Officer is a key member of the University's senior leadership team. This position reports to the President and provides leadership for essential administrative and operational support units including human resources & payroll, facilities and operations, public safety, information technology, and risk management and compliance.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Provide leadership for Human Resources & Payroll, Facilities and Operations, Campus Police, Risk Management and Compliance, and Information Technology Advise the President and senior campus leadership on all matters related to human resources, payroll, building construction and maintenance, custodial services, grounds management, energy management and plant systems, campus planning, campus safety, risk management, emergency management, and university compliance Serve as the university's designated real estate agent to The Board of Trustees, and represent the university in regards to the Physical Properties committee of the Board Develop business strategies and goals for the administrative and operational support units that align with the university's strategic goals and objectives and ensure the efficient and effective management of the university's resources Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement Serve as a liaison between the University and the University of Alabama System on all related administrative and operational matters Serve as ex-officio member of the Staff Senate and represent the university by serving on or attending meetings of other boards as needed


Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 7 years' related experience Demonstrated ability to think strategically Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written communications skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively Ability to think independently and make decisions with sound judgment and confidence


Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education leadership experience


The approximate salary for this position is $200,000 - $255,000 with a competitive Benefits package.
