About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Chemistry Patent Agent to join our clients Patent Development & Strategy group. This role involves patent prosecution, application drafting, and intellectual property portfolio management for a top-tier law firm. The ideal candidate has a chemistry or chemical engineering background, USPTO registration, and strong analytical and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

Patent Prosecution & Strategy

Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications related to chemistry and chemical engineering
Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
Manage and advise on intellectual property portfolios

Research & Due Diligence

Perform prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes
Prepare patent validity and infringement opinions
Collaborate with attorneys, inventors, and clients to develop patent strategies

Compliance & Legal Support

Stay updated on USPTO regulations and industry best practices
Ensure compliance with all patent laws and firm policies

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

Bachelors or Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
USPTO Registration (Required)

Experience & Skills

Minimum 2 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm setting
Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
