Chemical Maintenance Technician


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Complete repairs, inspections, & preventive maintenance work orders in a timely manner
  2. Proficient in all aspects of fabrication
  3. Working knowledge of high and low voltage along with 3-phase electricity
  4. Trouble shoot and diagnose equipment issues
  5. Working knowledge of process equipment (pumps, drives, gear boxes, etc.)
  6. Working knowledge of Boilers, Air Compressors, Chillers, & Heat Exchangers
  7. Working knowledge of Chemical processing operations and equipment (mixers, liquid & powder transfer systems, packaging, Hazardous material storage, etc.)
  8. Ability to perform basic wiring and installation of conduit.
  9. Ability to read & understand Mechanical and Electrical drawings
  10. Familiar with PLC operations with troubleshooting capabilities
  11. Ability to use basic electrical testing equipment
  12. Working knowledge of Class1, Division 1 regulations and Industrial OSHA requirements (LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.)
  13. Assist other maintenance personnel as necessary
  14. Ensure that work area is always clean, organized and safe
  15. Create & enter work orders and work completed in the CMMS system
  16. General Facility maintenance (light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.)
  17. Willingness to be a leader and direct others in a group setting when necessary
  18. Work with Contractors, Vendors, & Third parties directly and ensure all work is completed satisfactorily and according to agreements
  19. Recommend solutions to reduce lost time due and improve efficiencies
  20. Adhere to Company policies- supporting management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner
  21. Follow ISO 9001, ISO 18001, and ISO 14001 procedures
  22. Follow all EHS rules & guidelines and comply with PPE requirements at all times
  23. Support & assist the Production Team when short handed
  24. Perform all other duties assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Computer literate & Microsoft Office (basic skills)
  3. Full understanding of Preventative Maintenance Process/Programs
  4. Full understanding of Chemical manufacturing operations and equipment
  5. Ability to work in a team environment while being self-motivated
  6. Possesses a work ethic that includes neatness and punctuality
  7. Willingness to be on-call or work weekends and off shifts as required by management

Training:

  1. Company Policy
  2. Quality, Health, Safety, & Environmental policy
  3. Forklift, Scissor lift, Boom lifts, & Hoists
  4. ISO 9000, 14000, & 18001 introductions
  5. Adequate training on production equipment & processes
  6. Specific procedures on machine operation
  7. Lock-out Tag-out, Electrical Safety, Hot Work Permits, Confined space, Hazard recognition, ect.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:

  1. Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance
  2. Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed and lift up to 75lbs
  3. Ability to work in tight spaces, heights and outdoors as needed
