Chemical Maintenance Technician
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Complete repairs, inspections, & preventive maintenance work orders in a timely manner
- Proficient in all aspects of fabrication
- Working knowledge of high and low voltage along with 3-phase electricity
- Trouble shoot and diagnose equipment issues
- Working knowledge of process equipment (pumps, drives, gear boxes, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Boilers, Air Compressors, Chillers, & Heat Exchangers
- Working knowledge of Chemical processing operations and equipment (mixers, liquid & powder transfer systems, packaging, Hazardous material storage, etc.)
- Ability to perform basic wiring and installation of conduit.
- Ability to read & understand Mechanical and Electrical drawings
- Familiar with PLC operations with troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to use basic electrical testing equipment
- Working knowledge of Class1, Division 1 regulations and Industrial OSHA requirements (LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.)
- Assist other maintenance personnel as necessary
- Ensure that work area is always clean, organized and safe
- Create & enter work orders and work completed in the CMMS system
- General Facility maintenance (light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Willingness to be a leader and direct others in a group setting when necessary
- Work with Contractors, Vendors, & Third parties directly and ensure all work is completed satisfactorily and according to agreements
- Recommend solutions to reduce lost time due and improve efficiencies
- Adhere to Company policies- supporting management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner
- Follow ISO 9001, ISO 18001, and ISO 14001 procedures
- Follow all EHS rules & guidelines and comply with PPE requirements at all times
- Support & assist the Production Team when short handed
- Perform all other duties assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer literate & Microsoft Office (basic skills)
- Full understanding of Preventative Maintenance Process/Programs
- Full understanding of Chemical manufacturing operations and equipment
- Ability to work in a team environment while being self-motivated
- Possesses a work ethic that includes neatness and punctuality
- Willingness to be on-call or work weekends and off shifts as required by management
Training:
- Company Policy
- Quality, Health, Safety, & Environmental policy
- Forklift, Scissor lift, Boom lifts, & Hoists
- ISO 9000, 14000, & 18001 introductions
- Adequate training on production equipment & processes
- Specific procedures on machine operation
- Lock-out Tag-out, Electrical Safety, Hot Work Permits, Confined space, Hazard recognition, ect.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed and lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to work in tight spaces, heights and outdoors as needed
