Presbyterian Homes of Georgia is currently seeking a dynamic, talented and experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Registered Nurses (RN) to serve as Charge Nurses/Staff Nurses in the Health Services area at our Presbyterian Village, Athens, GA campus.

We are looking for nurses that are qualified, caring, compassionate and most of all, place their residents first.

The Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse is responsible for providing direct, hands-on resident care, including but not limited to: medication passes, wound care/treatments, ADLs, documentation & charting and supervising/providing leadership to CNAs.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse nursing care to those patients/residents while remaining patient and calm.

Responsibilities (overview):
Provide proper supervision and guidance to the CNA team
Record a resident's medical history accurately; as well as update changes
Documenting vitals; measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
Observe residents under your care to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
Monitor residents' condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
Assist residents in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
Providing timely and accurate documentation within the EMR system
Physician orders, lab orders, etc.
Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
Communicate with residents' family to provide advice, comfort and release instructions

Skills (overview):
Proven experience as an LPN, RN or similar role
Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with long-term care/hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
Excellent knowledge of medical, long-term care and hospital terminology
Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
Perfect physical condition and stamina
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and able to handle stressful situations in a positive and professional manner
Current & active LPN or RN license is required
