SUMMARY

The Channel Sales Manager leads our reseller and distribution network for vacuum pumps and associated hardware across multiple market segments, including semiconductor manufacturing, industrial production, scientific R&D, pharmaceuticals, biotech, aerospace, and more.

This is a hybrid role combining channel development, sales enablement, and conflict resolution between our reseller partners and direct field sales team. You'll ensure our partners are equipped for success while keeping internal sales efforts aligned and collaborative.

Candidate must sit on either the Pacific or Eastern coast and be able to travel up to 30%.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Channel Development & Management
    1. Identify, onboard, and develop strong relationships with resellers and distribution partners.
    2. Implement and maintain structured partner programs, training, and enablement initiatives.
    3. Monitor and evaluate channel partner performance, ensuring KPIs and sales targets are met.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
    1. Drive sales through the channel ecosystem.
    2. Develop regional/channel-specific sales plans and promotional activities.
    3. Collaborate with marketing to execute campaigns tailored to the channel.
    4. Develop vertical-specific sales strategies tailored to key markets (semiconductor, pharma, industrial, etc.).
  • Conflict Resolution & Alignment
    1. Act as a neutral, solutions-oriented liaison between resellers and direct sales teams.
    2. Implement and enforce clear rules of engagement, deal registration processes, and escalation protocols.
    3. Ensure transparency and fairness in lead handling, pricing, and account ownership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    1. Work closely with Product Management, Customer Support, and Engineering to ensure partner feedback is heard and acted upon.
    2. Coordinate with logistics and supply chain to ensure timely delivery and support for partners.
  • Reporting & Insights
    1. Utilize SAP to manage pricing, order tracking, partner accounts, and sales forecasting.
    2. Maintain accurate records of partner activity, forecasts, and pipeline development.
    3. Provide regular performance reports and market feedback to internal stakeholders.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Business or Engineering: Preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in channel sales or distribution management, ideally in industrial equipment or hardware
  • Solid understanding of vacuum pump technologies, leak detection and associated hardware preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Language Skills

The ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing is essential.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a disciplined approach to complete all tasks. The ability to understand the department's needs and requirements is essential. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required at the time of hire and periodically thereafter.

TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT

This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other common office type equipment. Additionally, the use of SAP CRM and ERP systems will be required. Will also be utilizing Pfeiffer Vacuum's range of products for demos, trade shows, and customer support.
