Our client is looking for a temporary Payroll Coordinator. You will assist the Payroll Manager in administering payroll functions and processing semi-monthly payroll cycles. The position requires handling highly detailed and confidential information with utmost accuracy and meeting tight deadlines while achieving departmental goals. The coordinator will also ensure timely and accurate payroll-related reporting to state and government agencies. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $28 to $30 per hour.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the employee database, ensuring accurate classification, pay rates, PTO accrual rates, and reporting structures.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
• Review quarterly payroll data to meet federal and state deposit and reporting requirements.
• Identify payroll-related issues for management review and provide insights to operations managers.
• Develop and manage a secure filing system for all confidential information, including pay data, employee information, state filings, and registrations.
Requirements:
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical competencies in using computers and standard business applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and proficiency in applicable databases and vendor software programs.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and the ability to assist the team/department in achieving goals.
• Strong logical and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
• Effective communication skills with clients, supervisors, and coworkers.
Experience:
• High school diploma/GED required or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on full life cycle payroll experience in a union-based environment.
• Strong familiarity with payroll systems (ex. ADP, Kronos, etc.)
