Working Hours: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
Total Weekly Hours: 36 hrs
RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

3-4 rating in Ophthalmology - strong in Vascular/Neuro and Robotics
Certs: BLS and NBSTA
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Outpatient, Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Transplant, Bariatrics, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Podiatry, Ortho/Total Joints, Davinci Robot.
JOB DETAILS:
Shift:3x12-Hour Nights
Call Requirement: potential call 1 to 2, 12 HR call shifts per 2 weeks as needed
Float Requirement: REQUIRED AS NEEDED
Weekend Requirement: Weekend shifts as needed.
Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: daily case load 80, 22 rooms. New Hanover Regional Health System provides surgical services that support multi-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergent surgical procedures. Procedures include General, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Urology, EENT, OB/GYN, Plastics, OMF, Trauma, Dental, Pediatric, Neonatal, and Endoscopy
• Organ harvesting .

UNIT ORIENTATION: Varies depending on experience.
SCRUBS: provided
- Maintain sterile field during surgical procedures
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures
- Creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room
- Providing surgical care to patients
- Coordinating instrumentation and surgical supplies
- Assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure
- Performing scrub duties for surgical procedures
- Maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure
- Perform surgical scrub according to procedure
- Performing surgical tech duties and related activities for surgical procedures
- Selecting and opening sterile supplies and surgical instrumentation
- Sterilizing and packaging surgical instrumentation for use in surgical procedures
- Utilize data from surgical preference cards for the surgical procedure and surgeon
- Assisting with all surgical procedures
- Provide patient care by scrubbing surgical cases
- Maintain equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist physicians with instruments during the surgical procedure
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies
