Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:
Responsibilities- The in-house traveler agrees to commit up to a 12 consecutive week assignment, scheduled at least 36 hours per week or 72 hours per pay period.
- The in-house traveler agrees to accept unit, location, and shift assignments by Hillcrest Hospital South and understands that the shift and unit assignment may change during the assignment period.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization procedures, principles of surgical procedures, anatomy, and physiology, and use and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist the surgical team in accomplishing surgical care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
- Understand the surgery schedule workflow and is available to meet the needs for room turnovers, patient transport, and cleaning.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
- Current valid and unrestricted Certified Surgical Tech certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Active BLS certification
- Minimum of one year of recent (within the last 2 years) hospital experience in the selected area.
