Certified Pharmacy Technician

Location: Apex, NC area

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Contract Duration: Through August 3rd 2025, with potential for extension or hire

This growing team is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations in a high-impact, on-site role. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and filling of prescriptions, including pre-packaging and IV preparation, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Support inventory management by receiving, rotating, and organizing incoming medications and supplies.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards through accurate recordkeeping, labeling, and proper storage practices.
  • Help ensure quality control through final checks and packaging of filled prescriptions for delivery.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy supervisors to maintain equipment calibration, cleanliness, and a safe work environment.
  • Enter prescription and billing data accurately into pharmacy software to support timely reimbursements and delivery schedules.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a high-volume or healthcare-related setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to articulate ideas clearly and manage multiple tasks with precision.
  • Comfortable working on-site in a regulated, structured environment with a rotating weekend schedule.
  • Open to a contract role with potential to transition to a full-time opportunity based on performance.

Preferred:

  • Current registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is mandatory for this role.
  • Prior certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is highly desirable for candidates.
  • Familiarity with IV prep and packaging procedures.
  • Experience working in a long-term care, hospital, or institutional pharmacy setting.
