Full and Part-Time, Day or Evening Shifts. Every other weekend, every other holiday
Job Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs nursing procedures and resident care tasks. Performs routine personal resident care activities for residents to promote their comfort, maintain their functional ability, and contribute to the overall resident care program while assuring safety. Care delivery is based on resident-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees. Maintains good working relations with nursing unit staff and other facility employees through appropriate communication.
Performs or assists the residents in performing specific activities of daily living while allowing for independence (as appropriate) according to established procedures in the resident's care plan and accurately reports results and provides input to the nurse.
Instills confidence in residents by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner. Reports observations of residents to the nurse caring for the resident to ensure professional assessment.
Maintains a safe and clean environment for residents and co-workers by performing infection control procedures in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Performs I&Os; checks vital signs and weight; and provides post-mortem care.
Ensures a dignified and respectful living environment that promotes resident choices by abiding by the Resident Bill of Rights at all times.
Performs various tasks such as: assures resident clothing is clean and properly marked, serves and collects meals and snacks, encourages and/or assists with feeding, answers call lights, transports residents within the facility, and assists with admission orientation of residents to the facility environment.
Supports the Activity Director by assisting the Activity Assistant(s) with small and large group activities and one-on-one interventions based upon needs and interests of the resident.
Performs duties within assigned area(s) as delegated by the Charge Nurse.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school graduate preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older to operate mechanical lifts.
Previous CNA work is preferred.

Physical/Mental: Physical effort required by the job includes standing, walking, stooping, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
Requirements: To accomplish the essential functions of the position, one must be physically able to operate or work with computers, calculators, reference books, computer software applications, phones, and other standard office equipment. The physical activities of the position include talking, reaching, grasping, light lifting, bending, squatting, and other repetitive motions.
