Job Description:
Under the supervision of nursing staff, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists in providing clinical patient care, prepares and maintains patient records, and ensures a clean and safe environment. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist nursing staff in providing direct patient care, including activities of daily living and vital sign monitoring.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean and sanitized.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers, including occasional heavy lifting.
- Follow verbal and written instructions from nursing and medical staff.
- Support patients' comfort and well-being by responding to their needs promptly and respectfully.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to caregiving.
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferred, but not required.
- Physical ability to perform occasional heavy lifting and assist patients as needed.
