Education Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience No prior experience required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits valuable time management skills. • Pinch Grip Position Competencies: Competencies are essential skills needed to be successful in a position. These competencies are required to help the department maintain a high level of productivity and success. Each competency will be evaluated by observation. Clinical Performance: Provides safe care with patients and families at the center. Personal care needs are identified and met. Is competent in technical skills assigned by the licensed nurse to perform. Implements care in a timely, knowledgeable, and skillful manner. Prioritizes and communicates patient clinical findings to the licensed nurse, including changes in the patient's condition within the scope of experience. Completes assigned tasks and care needs during the shift. Patient Safety: Situations are analyzed for potential safety concerns and appropriate action is taken to reduce or eliminate risks for potential harm. Exercises good judgment and knows when to seek outside advice when solving problems to prevent unfavorable patient outcomes. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, code of conduct, safety protocols, and infection prevention standards, and follows them accordingly. Patient Care: Continually checks in on patients to ensure all needs are met. Diligently reports all changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse. Obtains any patient desired items that are allowed within their scope of care. Accurately records vital signs when assigned to ensure patient safety. Completes any other ancillary tasks to make the patient's stay more comfortable. Education: Maintains current knowledge of nursing assistant information both in general and specific to the department. Attends all classes as required, and seeks out opportunities to learn and grow. Completes all mandatory education in a timely manner. Documentation: Documents patient care as required by hospital policy and department standards in a timely manner.
