Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a dynamic outpatient practice team. The CMA will support licensed medical providers and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care, while also contributing to the efficiency of daily clinical and clerical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms, including necessary supplies and equipment.
- Assist with patient preparation, exams, and procedures.
- Record vital signs and update patient records.
- Operate specialized medical equipment (EKG, audiometry, PFT, etc.) after proper training.
- Perform phlebotomy, drug screening, breath alcohol testing, and lab procedures as indicated.
- Complete and manage patient documentation and records.
- Support billing and administrative functions.
- Maintain confidentiality and respond to patient-specific needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, considering developmental and cultural differences.
- Other duties as assigned, in alignment with organizational standards and protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact compassionately with diverse populations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
Education & Certification:
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
Preferred Education:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Required Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA
- One of the following MA certifications:
- CMA (AAMA, NCCT, NHA)
- RMA (AMT, NAHP)
- AMCA or NCMA
Schedule Details:
- Start Date: May 26, 2025
- Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Work Week: 40 hours/week
- No weekends, holidays, on-call, or float requirements
Worksite:
This role is based at a clinical facility in Central New Jersey, approximately 1.5 miles from Jersey Shore University Medical Center and around 8 miles inland from the nearest oceanfront. The site is easily accessible via major roadways and is located in a well-developed outpatient care setting within Ocean County.
