JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Medical Assistant accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant provides support to the providers and other clinical staff by assisting with various medical and clerical activities to assure quality care and a more efficient work place.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Graduate of an approved school for medical assistants
- Certification as a medical assistant is required
- Recommend/prefer medical assistant oncology certification within 2 years of employment
Experience:
- Prefer six months work experience in a health care facility performing duties elating to patient care
- Additional experience involving computerized data equipment is preferred
- Prefer oncology experience
Special Skills and Competencies:
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision and possess the ability to work under pressure due to fluctuating workloads
- Ability to work as a team
