POSITION OVERVIEW FOR CERTIFIED LINEMAN
The Lineman is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. Additionally, the Lineman digs trenches for the installation of underground lines, installs meters, climbs poles to repair overhead lines, and inspects power lines for possible repair or replacement. The Lineman is also responsible for operating a bucket truck and/or line truck.

- Pay Range $34-$43 Hourly (Non-Exempt)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CERTIFIED LINEMAN
- Performs installation, removal, maintenance, and repair of overhead/underground distribution and communication systems
- Performs installation, removal, splicing, bonding, terminating, and testing of conductor and cable
- Constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead/underground electrical distribution, transmission, and substation systems, including such things as stringing of wire, setting poles and anchors, installing streetlights, capacitor banks, transformers, cutouts, crossarms, and insulators
- Connects, tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and apparatus
- Operates test equipment such as amp, volt, or ohm meters, phasing and cable test sets, fault finder, and cable locator
- Uses precautionary procedures, necessary tools, and safety equipment to work on or near energized lines or equipment
- Works with 480V and 12KV phasing
- Trains groundman and apprentices
- Performs other related duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CERTIFIED LINEMAN
- Certified completion of a union or company-recognized lineman apprenticeship training program
- 1+ years' experience
- Current California Electrical Journeyman's License
- Current California CDL License
- Oil and Gas experience preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
