Responsibilities:

The Certified Food Service Manager oversees the food service program at a single site, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, inventory management, and customer service. This role adheres to federal, state, and local regulations as well as HCSG policies to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
  • Lead and support the food service team in meeting quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
  • Conduct staff training and quality control; perform duties of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
  • Effectively communicate directives from client managers and building occupants to HCSG staff.
  • Ensure safe use of cleaning solutions and promptly report equipment needs or malfunctions.
  • Follow infection control and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and timely completion of tasks.
  • Represent HCSG positively by engaging courteously with supervisors, co-workers, residents, and guests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is required.
  • Associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality preferred.
  • Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.
  • Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and effective communication with team members and leadership.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining records and completing reports.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
