Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Commercial Drone Operator to support our landscape design, maintenance, and development projects. This role involves capturing high-quality aerial imagery and data to assist with site assessments, project planning, and client presentations. The ideal candidate will have experience in drone operations, mapping software, and data analysis, with a strong understanding of FAA regulations and drone technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct drone flights to capture aerial images and videos for landscape design, project documentation, and client presentations.
- Use drones for site analysis, including terrain mapping, vegetation health assessment, and topographic surveys.
- Process and analyze aerial data to generate maps, 3D models, and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) reports.
- Work with landscape architects, designers, and project managers to provide valuable aerial insights for planning and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and local airspace restrictions while maintaining safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections, troubleshooting any technical issues.
- Maintain and manage drone equipment, software, and flight logs.
- Stay informed about advancements in drone technology and landscape industry applications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (Required).
- Experience operating drones in commercial or landscape-related settings.
- Proficiency in drone mapping and analysis software (e.g., DroneDeploy, Pix4D, Agisoft, or GIS tools).
- Understanding of aerial vegetation analysis and site surveying techniques.
- Strong technical skills to troubleshoot and maintain drone hardware/software.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate different landscapes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in landscape architecture, land surveying, or environmental sciences.
- Familiarity with CAD software, GIS tools, or 3D modeling software.
- Knowledge of plant health analysis and irrigation planning using drone data.
