Meadowview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - STORE ROOM - CENTRAL SUPPLY CLERK

POSTION DESCRIPTION - EFFECTIVE 10/3/2018

Responsible for receiving, storage and disbursement of supplies. Keeping accurate inventory records of the aforementioned. Must be a high school graduate with stockroom or related experience. Computer knowledge of Resource System a must. Must be capable of doing moderate to heavy physical labor, as well as simple mathematical calculations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. After receiving administrative approval, place orders for all necessary supplies.
  2. Receive all shipments of supplies, which are delivered to the receiving entrance and the receptionist's desk.
  3. Reconcile all deliveries with the actual purchase order to ensure accuracy of delivery and mitigate errors
  4. Transport all shipments to the appropriate storage area or department.
  5. Review all shipments to the appropriate storage area department.
  6. Maintain and complete inventory and usage records within Resource system.
  7. Distribute all supplies, which have been properly requisitioned.
  8. Responsible for general ledger allocation of central supply expenditures.
  9. Order and maintain adequate number of facility forms as applicable.
  10. Responsible for coordinating maintenance of office equipment per lease/purchase agreements
  11. Obtain Fax readings
  12. Knowledge of billing prepared for processing.
  13. Help environmental put supplies away (large orders received)
  14. Knowledge of medical supplies
  15. Obtain pricing quotes from procurement and/or vendors for items that are not in the DSSI Software
  16. Meet with Sales Representatives as appropriate
  17. Inventory the storeroom and all floor storerooms.
  18. Must have good problem solving skills.
  19. Inspect all supplies for damage when received.
  20. Rotate stock according to expiration date.
  21. Maintain storerooms in clean and orderly manner.
  22. Must be able to calculate supplies needed based on physician orders (i.e. enter all nutrition)
  23. Comply with department and facility procedures, fire prevention and safety standards.
  24. Knowledgeable of medical terminology
  25. Assist with budget process when asked
  26. Maintain MSDS sheets for all Central Supply Inventory
  27. Attend appropriate in-services.
  28. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  29. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/ personnel, and the general public. Filing, Copying, Answering Phone
  30. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
  31. Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age and of good moral character.
  32. Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures and guidelines.
  33. Must posses the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  34. Must posses the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
  35. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  36. Must pass a simple mathematics test.
  37. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  38. Must be able to work in areas that are not climate controlled.
  39. Must be able to provide inventory reports to assist in operational decisions.
  40. Monitor inventory for loss and variances and report to management personnel.
  41. Possess computer skills and is knowledgeable on the HIPPA regulations.
  42. Prepare outgoing packages and ensure proper identification (ie UPS)
  43. Print UPS Shipping labels for all departments
  44. Responsible for putting Respiratory supplies away and pulling the order.
  45. Complete other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be proficient in reading and writing and understand the spoken and written word. Must be able to apply good sound nursing judgement while applying the Nurse Practice Act. Must have some computer skills. Must be able to hear with corrective or adaptive devices and see 20/20 with corrective eyewear. Must have simple computational skills such as addition, subtractions, multiplication, division and percentages. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend at knees and waist, push and pull, turn and lift a minimum of 50lbs.
