POSITION SUMMARY:
Accountable for the reporting, updating, billing, and collection of ceded reinsurance claims. The function requires an understanding of complex environmental/latent claims, coverage, and allocation issues, reinsurance programs, and reinsurance facultative and treaty contract language.
DUTIES:
- Reviewing underlying claim matters and coverage files to determine if claims are reportable to reinsurers.
- Providing reinsurers with initial notice.
- Providing reinsurers with status updates.
- Ensuring that reinsurer inquiries are addressed.
- Billing reinsurers.
- Collecting from reinsurers.
- Performing special projects and assignments related to area of authority (for example: handling reinsurer audits and collateral requests).
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills required.
- Capable of working independently and meeting assigned deadlines.
EDUCATION:
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum two years reinsurance claims experience and/or five years' experience in environmental/latent claims.
- Ability to travel.
