First Response Rail Service is hiring a CDL Driver (Class A) with a minimum of 2 years' experience to operate a truck.

Full-time position
Local Driving only. You will be home every night
Backing of trailer is required
Dump experience preferred
Landfill tipper experience preferred
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative/driver level maintenance (change tires, greasing of truck & trailer)
Competitive pay based on experience level.
Must have Safe Driving record with no pattern of moving violations/accidents in either a personal or commercial vehicle.
Must meet DOT and company requirements related to drug and alcohol testing
Must possess or be able to obtain a current DOT physical card.
Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
Pick-up and safely transport goods, livestock, etc. to the intended destination
Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, open top hopper and flatbed to prevent damage/injury
Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
Communicate with managers as needed
Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
Ability to follow instructions as the driver may not be driving every day and will need to be able to do other jobs to help on the worksite.
Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
Track and report working hours
Adhere to company rules and regulations
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
Comply company and DOT regulations
Always make safety a priority
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
Physically and mentally fit
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
An innate sense of direction
Self-starter who works well independently
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
High level of composure and good stress management
Backing onto a Landfill Tipper with 53' trailer experience
Hand tool and Power tool use is required
Follow all site safety protocols
