Cedar Grove Composting is looking for Class A drivers to safely and efficiently operate our transfer trucks. Our Class A drivers are responsible for delivering our materials to residential and commercial clients, and bringing green waste back to our facility safely. This position will be based out of our Maple Valley facility, and this is a union position with benefits from Teamsters 174. Safety is our priority above anything else.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
Complete daily log.
Deliver compost and other products to homes, dealers and construction sites.
Delivery of waste to ours and other facilities for processing as needed.
Navigate your route efficiently.
Communicate with dispatch team and fellow drivers regularly.
Reliably work scheduled shifts.
Required Skills
Must be able to perform physical tasks such as tarping loads, climbing in and on trucks, working electric pallet jacks, digging out stuck loads, and washing and fueling trucks.
Be familiar with local area and have efficient map reading skills for local deliveries.
Must maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Must interact with public in professional manner.
Be self-motivated and reliable to meet performance standards.
Be open to a flexible work schedule due to seasonal demands.
Understand and follow all OSHA/WISHA requirements, including wearing PPE.
Utilize proper lifting techniques.
Education/Certification
Class A CDL
DOT Medical Card
Insurable driving record
Experience/Other
Experience with a variety of trucks including Semi, Dump/Pup, and Live floor trailers is great - Transfer truck experience is ideal.
Must have experience with 10, 13 & 18 speed transmissions and be able to pass a driving test.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb in and out of trucks up to 8+ hours per day; answer and talk on telephone; email on occasion and work with the computer system; drive Class A equipment safely. Also, be able to life and carry objects up to 60 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to assist individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
