SUMMARY

Drives truck over established route to deliver products or pick up back haul products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to work in a timely manner.
Confirms correct paperwork and notes any immediate problems and reports them to proper person.
Locates and confirms truck is ready for safe operation by performing proper pre-trip inspection.
Checks paperwork at shipper locations by checking for correct product, quantity, and quality.
Records any discrepancies and signs all appropriate paperwork/bills of lading (BOL).
Secures customer signature on all necessary BOL's.
Confirms any pick up of product by checking for correct product, use by date, quality and quantity. Signs for return of product.
Turns over all applicable paperwork to Dock Controller or authorized warehouse personnel upon return to warehouse.
Maintains accurate driver log in Samsara system.
Provides and promotes positive customer service at all times.
Adheres to policies and practices as determined by Upper Lakes Foods.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
Other duties may be assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

On the job training may be provided

Skills

Knowledge and proficiency of the following systems: Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as the Internet.
Ability to operate basic office equipment; i.e. copy machine, fax machine and scanner
Great organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with Upper Lakes Foods, Inc customers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certification, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and a valid DOT Medical Card

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous customer service experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 60 pounds.
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
