CDL A Regional Liquid Tank Drivers

Schwend, Inc. is hiring CDL A Regional Liquid Tank Drivers in the Southeast. Drivers will be hauling molasses, clay slurry, soy oil, and salt brine in insulated and non-insulated smooth bore trailers that hold 5,500 to 7,000 gallons. This position requires drivers to have hazmat & tanker endorsements.Here at Schwend we pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated company. Charles and Judi Schwend started our company in 1976. Mr. Charles and Mrs. Judi are now retired, but if you ever stop by our terminal in Dade City are you likely to see them around the office. Jeff (Judi and Charles son) took over the company after his parents retired and is now our company President and fearless leader. Over the last 47 years, we have built a strong customer base in the Southeast, hauling many types of agricultural products. We have grown some since 1976 and we now have a total of 4 terminals. Due to our continuing growth, we are actively searching for professional, reliable, drivers to join our family. We are licensed to run all 48 states, but we primarily stay in the southeast.Compensation:
•   Average gross weekly pay: $1,100 - $1,400
•   Starts at 23% of the gross load pay and works up to 25% of the gross load pay
•   While we do not pay per mile we do guarantee your rate per mile will never drop below $0.60 cents per mile, on all miles
•   Bonuses:
•   Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 paid in $100 increments per week over the course of a year
•   Driver Referral Program: Up to $2,500
•   Quarterly Fuel Bonus & Safety Bonus
•   Additional Pay:
•   Nightly Per Diem: $30/per night spent in truck
•   Goes directly to your paycheck and is not taxed
•   Additional Weekend Per Diem: $75 flat on top of normal nightly per diem

•   Home Time: Home weekly, most weekends
•   Schedule: Monday through Friday
•   Occasional weekend work may be required
•   Route: Runs will primarily be within the southeast region
•   Occasional runs outside of the southeast
•   Level of Touch: hooking and unhooking hoses, monitoring trailer pressure
•   More hands on than just bumping docks, but not as physically demanding as tarping a flatbedEquipment:
•   New & late model Volvo & Kenworth trucks
•   All trucks are automatic transmission
•   Governed speed: 69 on cruise
•   Safe Driving Program: After 1-year of no moving violations we bump cruise up to 70mph and after 2-years of no moving violations we bump up to 72mph
•   Amenities: Mattresses, APUs and Inverters
•   ELD equipped using Samsara system
•   No driver facing cameras, only outward facingQualifications:
•   Must be at least 21 years of age
•   Must have CDL A license
•   Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
•   Liquid tanker experience preferred
•   Must have hazmat & tanker endorsements
•   0 DUI/DWIs in last 10 years
•   Less than 3 points on your MVR
•   No careless or reckless driving within the last 10 years
•   Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
•   Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
•   Cannot have any history of refusing drug screening or have a record of failing a previous drug test
•   Drivers must be able to provide working handsfree headset, CB radio & steel toe shoes
•   Hiring Area: Drivers must live in the northern half of FL (nothing south of Dade City), or within 75 miles of the following cities:
•   Kershaw, NC
•   Elko, GA
•   Birmingham, AL
