Orrville Trucking & Grading is hiring Full Time CDL A or B Local Ready-Mix Drivers who live within 20 miles of Wooster / Orrville, OH. Drivers will haul concretearound the Wooster/Orrville, OH area.Drivers will have the opportunity to learn both Class A and Class B commercial trucks, including, but not limited to, mixers (primary), dump trucks, and semi-trucks. Additional opportunities to learn to operate other commercial vehicles are available. Drivers must be able to operate a manual transmission.

At Orrville Trucking & Grading, safety is our priority. 50% of our fleet (and growing.) doesn't have ladders which makes it much safer and less taxing for our drivers. We have invested heavily in technology to make our drivers jobs efficient, such as central mix batch plants, no hoppers on trucks, a truck wash to automatically wash down your truck, and a Drum Blaster to ease end of day wash up.

Compensation:

  • Drivers will start around $20-$22 perhour with bi-annual wage increases based on performance
    • Average hours weekly: 45-55 (+)
    • Overtime pay after 40 hours at time-and-a-half
  • 2-3 raises/reviews per year:
    • Average raise over the last 5 years has been $1.46
  • Quarterly performance bonuses in Q2, Q3 & Q4:
    • Quarterly bonuses are equivalent to an additional dollar per hour
  • Paid via direct deposit weekly

Home Time, Route & Schedule:

  • Home every night - we guarantee you'll be home for dinner.
    • Monday through Friday schedule
    • 1 Saturday is required per month in the busy season (April-October)
    • Drivers who are looking to pick-up additional hours can opt to work multiple Saturdays each month
  • Shifts start between 6:30am and 7:30am
    • Drivers who want to pick-up additional hours throughout the week can opt to take late loads
    • We do not close due to inclement weather, unless weather poses danger to drivers on the road.
  • Route: 30 miles around Orrville / Wooster, OH
  • Level of Touch: Orrville Trucking & Grading is heavily advanced in technology to ensure drivers have a very limited level of touch and ensures safety is being prioritized:
    • Drivers will be helping to setup concrete chutes at each job
    • Ladders have been removed from 50% of fleet; helps to avoid up & down movement and prevent injury
    • Drivers will never have to manually clean out the inside of their drums
    • Removed charge hoppers
    • Automatic truck washes at both plants
    • Centralized batch plants - All automated

Equipment:

  • Late model Freightliners & Peterbilts
  • Automatic & Manual Transmission
    • Must be able to operate a manual transmission
  • Nearly 90% of the mixer fleet and 70% of the mixer and dump truck fleet, respectively, are automatic
    • All new trucks going forward are automatic
  • Inward & outward facing dashcams in all trucks

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have CDL A or B license
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years CDL driving experience
    • Drivers with previous Ready-Mix experience will be highly considered
  • No DUI/DWIs in the last 5 years
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
  • Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 20 miles of Wooster or Orrville, OH
