JobID: 298782 In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual patient care in addition to assisting the physician during the cardiac procedure. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions: - Coordinates all aspects of patient care.
- Post procedure care of cardiac catheterization / PCI, electrophysiology, vascular, and interventional radiology patients.
- Assists Physician with TEE, CV, and Tilt Table Study.
- Provides care to patient on intra-aortic balloon pump / Impella.
- Provides care to patient on EKOS.
- Administers medications including conscious sedation; handles emergent patient care issues.
- Coordinate's patient care for all invasive procedures.
- Provides patient recovery and education after general and invasive procedures.
- Coordinate's arrival times and gives detailed instructions to patient or family.
- Removes sheath while maintaining hemostasis.
- Operates hemodynamic monitoring and charting system.
- Circulates cardiac catheterization / PCI, electrophysiology, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
- Maintains clinical competency.
- Able to be on call and respond to hospital within 30 minutes.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Minimum Education/Experience Required: - Current licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse required.
- Previous cardiac cath lab and/or critical care experience preferred.
- BLS certification required upon hire.
- ACLS within one year of hire required.
- Must live within 30 minutes from hospital.
- Maintains compliance in RQI required.
