(Contingent upon available funding):10.39 - 11.02, Hourly Work Schedule:M-F 6:00a - 2:30p (subject to change) Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary:GENERAL SUMMARY: TheCatering Associate is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient catering serviceduring events and functions. Their duties involve a wide range of tasks, frompreparing and setting up for events to assisting in the Student Union cafeteria toprovide meals to students, employees and the public; and providing cateringservices for on and off campus functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the setup, preparation, and execution of catering functions on and off campus.
  • Assist in maintaining the dish room, operating dishwashing machines, and restocking dishes in the proper areas.
  • Provide customer service in dining area, including dining area sanitation.
  • Assists with cooking, food preparation, and serving as assigned.
  • Assist with stocking and cleaning of food service and prep areas.
  • Run and balance register when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

    High School diploma or GED preferred.Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.Previous experience working in the food industry.Previous customer service experience.Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner while addressing concerns effectively.Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper setup and breakdown of events.Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control of food.The ability to read and comprehend both written and verbal instructions.Must be customer-service oriented.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to multi-task and assist in any area necessary.Ability to resolve problems.Ability to communicate effectively with students, co-workers and other campus personnel.Ability to communicate with a positive attitude.Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.Valid Oklahoma driver's license is required if driving a personal or university vehicle for university business.Must maintain a Food Handler's permit if needed.Ability to work evenings and weekends.Available to work special events, some of which may be at times other than standard work hours.Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and have full function of all limbs.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Must meet the physical demands of the position.Will be required to work during inclement weather conditions.
