Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Category Manager to lead the Technology procurement category. This role requires end-to-end category ownership with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing, stakeholder engagement, and value realization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing category strategies in the IT space, including cloud services, SaaS, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for Technology spend areas (e.g., cloud, software, hardware, IT services).
- Partner with key stakeholders across IT and business units to understand needs, align sourcing strategies, and drive value.
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes including strategic sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier management.
- Continuously assess market trends and supplier capabilities to identify new opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
- Build business cases and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Act as the primary liaison with Technology vendors, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and service level agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure category plans reflect current and future business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Category Management with a focus on Technology procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement category strategies, not just manage transactions or catalogs.
- Experience with cloud-hosted software, SaaS, and AI technologies.
- Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency with sourcing tools such as Ariba or similar platforms, but with a strategic rather than purely transactional focus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, IT, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM) preferred.
