Compensation: The base salary for this position typically ranges from $104,000 to $135,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, experience, job-related expertise, and geographic location. Depending on the position, target bonuses and other forms of compensation may also be offered as part of a comprehensive total rewards package, which includes a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits

Position Summary: The Category Manager is responsible for championing the development and execution of short and long term BA Portfolio plans that leverage consumer, syndicated data and customer insights, as well as future trends. The Category Manager will focus on delivering business driving sales stories and customer growth opportunities through deep analysis of the Category, Marketplace and Competition. Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, I&D and Syndicated Suppliers) to gather relevant data and information to craft compelling presentations to grow distribution and sales of the BA portfolio.
Position Responsibilities:- The Category Manager will partner with the sales team in the development of the long term strategic plans for Walmart, and for translating them effectively into annual growth plans and programs. Of primary importance in these plans will be profitable growth.
- The Category Manager will lead the development of all line reviews, reporting and business/market analysis to drive identification of growth opportunities for Walmart and Sams.
- TheCategory Manager will be responsible for introducing new ideas for Category growth within the Pkg Salad Category and Center Store, including the areas of product development, packaging, marketing communication and/or in-store materials, leveraging their deep knowledge of the business and market analysis.
- Conduct thorough market analysis, consumer insights research, and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities and risks.
- Provides data and insights to support regular customer (buyer) meetings leveraging internal and external data sources to monitor business performance.
- Manages data sources from syndicated suppliers and ensures data accuracy and updates to ensure accurate and relevant reporting and insights.
Position Requirements:- 5-10 years of experience in Insights or Category Management within the retail consumer packaged goods industry
- Experience in the fresh-cut produce industry preferred
- College degree required. MBA preferred
- Demonstrated success in influencing and growing sales including experience leading customer presentations
- Excellent attention to detail, planning and attention to detail
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written); presentation experience required
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated success in managing key projects against established deadlines through self efforts
- Experience managing Syndicated Data Suppliers and Datasets, specific expertise in Scintilla and Madrid required
- Strong computer literacy: must be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Occasional overnight travel
- Occasional driving, requiring up-to-date car insurance
Physical Requirements:- Ability to climb stairs numerous times a day.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit and work on a computer terminal 50-75% of the time.
