Reports to: Director of Teen Services & Initiatives
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Normally Monday - Friday during normal business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Able to work flexible hours.

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The after-school hours have become a critical time for youth - a time when many children in our communities are left to fend for themselves without positive adult supervision. We provide a safe place filled with hope and opportunity, ongoing relationships with caring adult mentors, and enriching programs.
Overview of the role:
The Career Pathways Manager (CPM) is responsible for creating and implementing building blocks and programs designed to focus on the development and coaching of soft skills, workforce development, job coaching, job placement and career paths of high school members of the Boys & Girls Clubs as well as other youth in the community. The CPM provides teen members ages 14-18 with opportunities to develop key technical, professional, and life skills. Participants will work with the CPM and other partnering organizations to receive personalized coaching and mentorship, while deepening their knowledge of career opportunities that they apply to real-world settings via team projects and paid work-experience or internships. The Career Pathways Manager is also responsible for developing and delivering structured workshops with defined curriculum and outcomes such as, but not limited to, resume building, career speakers, job shadowing, and FAFSA workshops. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of Workforce Development programs that will help prepare teens, and youth, to succeed after high school through post-secondary education options, career exploration, workforce readiness, internship/apprenticeship experiences, and other related initiatives. The CPM will work to build relationships with local and national corporations and organizations which may lead to internships, training and/or employment opportunities for BGCH youth members.

• On your resume. Bachelor's Degree preferred in relevant field from an accredited institution or some college.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience working in a youth development organization and partnership development.
• Extensive experience in resume writing, mock interviews, computer literacy. What you'll do:
• Recruit local youth to BGCH Teen Centers on Oahu and Kauai as members and encourage participants to the Career Pathways program.
• Create and facilitate life skills and workforce development workshops to equip teens with relevant transferable social, professional, and college preparatory skills.
• Develop productive partnerships with businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, and other community stakeholders to incorporate into programming curriculum.
• Host regular check-in and coaching sessions with program participants, including supporting program participants with job/internship applications, scholarship applications, career exploration, etc.
• Oversight of case management activities and documentation of interactions and supports through the case management program.
• Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against targeted goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests.
• Secure paid summer youth internship placements for program participants and assist partners to ensure youth success in placements.
• Facilitate "job shadows" or field trips at companies where youth can shadow an employee throughout the workday.
• Workshops in resume-writing, interviewing skills, goal setting, and educational planning.
• Provide and encourage members with the opportunity to explore professional jobs and academic opportunities, and learn from people who have already succeeded in their careers.
• Ensure all youth are comfortable with technology and proficient in expressing themselves through professional software and hardware tools.
• Promote and stimulate engagement, participation, and consistent attendance of youth enrolled in activities. Provide on-going feedback and recognition of teens' progress and assist them at meeting designated benchmarks.
• Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain Club program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members.
• Consistently follows instructions and observes BGCH policies and procedures.
• Track and monitor teens' progress and report information appropriately.
• Undertakes other duties that upper management may deem necessary to the best interest of the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii.
• Performs all other duties as necessary to ensure the success of programs under their jurisdiction.
• Actively participate in recurring team meetings and 1:1 meetings with supervisor. Leadership and Management
• Develop and supervise implementation of programming, opportunities, and resources that help teens, and other youth, with workforce readiness preparation, identifying career pathways, and potential post-secondary education opportunities.
