Position SummaryThis recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Career Development Web & Marketing Assistant position for the Career Development Center at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position is for a student Web & Marketing Assistant who will work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to edit, update and enhance the Career Development Center website and promote awareness of career services, events, and programs. The Web & Marketing Assistant will work collaboratively as a member of the Career Development Center's marketing team to create effective content that tells the story of the Career Development Center's mission and impact on the Oregon State University community.
Through this position students will develop core competencies that will better prepare them for careers after graduation. These skills include, but are not limited to: communication, critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, professionalism, equity and inclusion, & digital technology.
Position DutiesPosition Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist with production, editing, posting, and maintenance of the Career Development Center website and online blog.
- Troubleshoot website problems with the Director of Marketing & Communications; identify solutions and implement corrections as needed.
- Work in consultation with the CDC Director of Marketing & Communications to respond to requests for website updates from members of the Career Development Center team.
- Post blog entries, videos, images, PDFs and other content as needed.
- Select and optimize photos for web.
- Assist with the creation of email newsletters to drive online traffic.
- Use Google Analytics to prepare monthly web analytics reports.
- Send requests to campus partners to include Career Development Center content in their outreach materials such as newsletters, emails, and digital slide rotations.
- Update Career Development Center events on the OSU online events calendar.
- Meet regularly and brainstorm with members of the Career Development team for ways to share the mission and impact of the Career Development Center.
Additional duties: - Complete training required to satisfactorily complete assigned tasks.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Depending on the skills and interests of the successful candidate, the position could also include writing articles for blogs and newsletters, photography/videography, and creation of marketing materials using Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Experience with web content management systems and website design
- Knowledge of basic HTML
- Experience in photo editing and optimizing photos for websites
- Experience writing for publication
Working Conditions / Work SchedulePeriod of Employment - This position typically works about 10 hours a week and no more than 24 hours week.
- Period of employment is one academic year, contingent upon employee maintaining satisfactory job performance as evaluated by supervisor.
Work location - A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be available for successful candidates.
