Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 9-day locum tenens position at multiple locations across Texas. Starting on 04/14/2025, this assignment involves covering shifts at various clinics. The schedule varies by location, with shifts typically running from 7 AM to 4 PM. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing work and DOT physicals, treating common injuries (especially back and leg), managing eye debris removal, non-emergency burns, ear checks, and conducting follow-up appointments. This position utilizes the Occuflex EMR system and offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 9-day period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Perform work physicals and DOT physicals
  • Treat common injuries, with a focus on back and leg injuries
  • Manage eye debris removal and non-emergency burn cases
  • Conduct ear checks and follow-up appointments for previous injuries
  • Perform suturing procedures as needed
  • Interpret basic orthopedic x-rays
  • Provide walk-in urgent care services for various conditions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Occuflex EMR
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure effective communication with patients and healthcare team members
  • Collaborate with staff for efficient patient flow and care delivery
  • Stay current with best practices in urgent care medicine
  • Adapt to different clinic environments across multiple locations
  • Manage time effectively to see patients in a timely manner

Additional Information:


  • Texas physician assistant license required
  • Experience in urgent care or similar fast-paced clinical settings essential
