About the clinician's workday
The typical workweek is from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with call shifts running from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Providers take one night of call per week and one weekend per month, following a 1:4 rotation. However, call coverage may increase to two nights per week and two weekends per month during vacations or position vacancies. Common cases include CABG and SAVR, with an average of two procedures per day. APPs first assist in surgeries, cover the floor, participate in rounds, and occasionally see patients in the office, primarily when the office APP is on vacation.
