Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is recruiting a full-time academic Cardiothoracic Critical Care Co-Director to join the Section of Acute and Critical Care Surgery. Washington University School of Medicine is a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center providing multidisciplinary care to their community.
The full time, 12 month service period, non-tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Professor Position will offer salary and rank commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Fall 2025. Clinical responsibilities will include cardiothoracic, trauma and surgical intensive care and emergency and elective general surgery.
This position will be expected to participate in the education of medical students, and surgical residents and fellows, and the pursuit of scholarly activities is expected. Candidates should have an M.D. or D.O. degree and postgraduate clinical training. They should hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Missouri as well as be board certified in General Surgery and Critical Care. They will need to demonstrate practical interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to ongoing performance improvement. Dedication to enhancing a diverse workforce and academic environment is vital. They should be able to collaborate effectively with other clinicians. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching and research is expected.
