We want to generate opportunities for children and young people linked to the Cardiff Capital Region growth sectors to help develop the knowledge and skills needed in our young people to ensure they secure a positive destination once they leave school.
We want someone who can work with stakeholders to identify, develop, innovate and enhance the delivery of Careers and Work-Related Experiences across the city to provide children and young people with the highest quality opportunities to develop ambition and skills which support progression into education, employment and training.
A person who can coordinate evaluation of the programme and support the Programme Manager to quantify the impact of the Cardiff Commitment on children and young people and can further the aims of the Cardiff Commitment by identifying sources of funding to progress the mission of the Cardiff Commitment and lead on bid writing
We are looking to recruit a person that has business engagement experience and an understanding/knowledge of the growth sectors in Cardiff and the Capital Region.
But more importantly we want to recruit someone who understands what excellent opportunities look like for children and young people that encourage ambition, develop skills and support progression into Education, Employment and Training.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for someone with experience of creating and brokering opportunities between employers and schools and who can engage with partners to identify, develop and evaluate quality Careers and Work-Related Experiences that provide opportunities, raise aspirations and enhance the skills required of world of work.
We want someone who has the confidence to network with a wide range of stakeholders from across the public, private and third sectors and engage them with the Cardiff Commitment initiative.
You will understand the importance of strong networks, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders such as, schools, colleges, Council staff, industry partners and regional partners and have a broad understanding of labour market intelligence in areas which are poorly understood and of strategic importance to connect and support children and young people to transition into the jobs of the future.
You will be able to demonstrate plan, develop and evaluate a Universal Offer for schools to access quality Careers & Work-Related Experiences, with the intention of maximising opportunities for children and young people.
You will work with stakeholders and the internal Marketing Team to develop creative, integrated marketing campaigns and events to ensure industry opportunities reach the children and young people who need it most.
You will report to the Principal Business Development Officer, working alongside the Cardiff Commitment Programme Manager within the Education Directorate to ensure a joined-up approach to the work of the Cardiff Commitment.
