Summary

The Facilities Management Administration Internship is an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in the Administration/Capital Projects field. Candidates can apply their education, skills and experience while gaining practical administrative experience in a public sector setting. As an intern you'll work on strategic projects, help support Office Administration operations and learn from a team of public sector professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative support to department staff.
  • Assists in the development and management of standardized forms.
  • Supports the migration of project data and budgets into the new project management software.
  • Contributes to the development of material, color, and product standard specifications for County Facilities, including maintaining a library of material and color boards.
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining the filing system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from High School or a General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Skill in filing and organization of material; skill in operating a personal computer
  • Possess a willingness to learn, positive attitude and self-motivation
  • Commit to the entire internship session (at least 24 months)
  • Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
  • Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance
  • Must have available transportation during entire workday
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Constantly working in indoor conditions
  • Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds
  • Occasionally moves about the office
  • Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Positions self to perform essential functions
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
