Position Summary:

We are looking for an independent and highly motivated laboratory-focused PhD scientist to contribute to research efforts aimed at understanding target biology and the mechanism of action of novel small molecule inhibitors for cancer treatment. This scientist will play a key role in designing and executing cell-based assays to address critical scientific questions. The ideal candidate should be passionate about cancer biology and thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment focused on discovering and developing new therapeutics. The position level will be based on experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and execute experiments.
  • Perform in vitro assays to investigate the mechanism of action of potential anti-cancer therapeutics and identify novel biomarkers and biological pathways.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot issues, and refine methodologies as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists across research teams to align efforts with project goals.
  • Present findings and report on project progress in individual, team, and project meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in cancer research; industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to laboratory-based research.
  • High attention to detail and enthusiasm for integrating fundamental biological insights with drug discovery.
  • Knowledge of cancer epigenetics and gene regulation is preferred.
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays, including viability assays (siRNA/shRNA, CRISPR, overexpression), protein analysis (Western blot, MSD, ELISA), and gene expression analysis (qRT-PCR).
  • Experience in designing and performing flow cytometry assays.
  • Ability to work independently while adapting to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Experience in bioinformatics data analysis and visualization is a plus.
  • Ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot mechanism of action assays independently; experience working with CROs is a plus.
