Acts as a senior developer to design, develop, integrate, and implement custom solutions to support the delivery of Calypso. Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC). Architects solutions that are fit for purpose and ensures overall quality.

Major Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement applications, modules, and interfaces for solutions to meet critical and complex requirements. Technology platform includes, but is not limited to: Java/J2EE, Swing, JDBC, RMI, Camel, Active MQ, Jenkins, Maven, Sonar, Oracle, SQL Server, Spring, JBoss, FitNesse and C .NET.
  • Independently diagnose and resolve complex support issues related to trading systems, portfolio servicing, accounting, and financial risk management software and software customizations.
  • Work directly with business partners to understand, assess, and document business processes and requirements and generate functional and technical specifications.
  • Perform feasibility analyses and cost/benefit studies for the purpose of identifying solutions to information processing requirements, including the evaluation and recommendation of software packages and/or custom solutions.
  • Perform unit testing and collaborate with Quality Assurance for the planning and execution of integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Work across IT functions and collaborate effectively to deliver complete technical solutions.
  • Follow SDLC practices and policies as prescribed. Adhere to change management processes and coordinate changes with all impacted parties.
  • Prepare documentation as required.
  • Participate in application support in collaboration with operational staff.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
Skills/Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting, and Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
  • Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in designing, developing implementing and supporting Calypso
  • Experience with hands-on Calypso development and implementation
  • Working knowledge of fixed income and derivative instruments; treasury, capital markets, and accounting knowledge
  • Understanding of operating systems, application security configurations, and best practices in Windows and UNIX environment is required.
  • Ability to take the initiative to pursue assignments, responsibilities, and support requests to a logical and final solution and to employ SDLC standards is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with:
  • 7+ years of Object-oriented programming (OOP), Java
  • 5+ years of Relational Database Management Systems, such as Oracle, including PL/SQL and expert SQL.
  • Experience C .NET is a plus
  • Designing, developing, and implementing interfaces using application program interfaces (API).
  • Designing, developing, and implementing web services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Representational State Transfer (REST) environment.
  • Integrating custom financial applications with packaged systems.
  • Developing functional and technical specifications for financial and/or accounting system (vendor or in-house) enhancements.
  • Prior experience in large-scale enterprise-wide system implementation in financial services or similar experience strongly preferred.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex issues with banking/capital markets systems.
  • Creating and executing application test cases and test plans. Experience with HP Quality Center is a plus.
  • ITIL foundation training or other service management training is a plus.
