Job Summary:
This position is a Hospital Operator responsible for managing a high volume of calls (50-100 per day) in a fast-paced medical center environment. Duties include answering calls, operating overhead paging systems, two-way radios, and alarm systems. The operator must provide courteous and timely service, connecting callers to the appropriate destinations and offering assistance. Additional administrative and clerical tasks may be required.

Responsibilities:
- Answering 50-100 calls per day in a timely and courteous manner.
- Operating overhead paging systems, two-way radios, and alpha/numeric paging units.
- Managing alarm systems.
- Accurately connecting callers to their requested destinations.
- Providing appropriate information and assistance to callers.
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous hospital operator experience.
- Understanding of insurance programs and payors.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare environment.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.
- Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
- Knowledge of hospital-based registration/scheduling systems.
Special Considerations:
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as assigned.
Scheduling:
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Overtime and weekend/holiday work may be required.
