Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively in English and

Spanish, and to assist customers with purchases in an accurate and efficient manner.

Additionally, the selected candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, independently or

as part of a team. The position requires someone who is reliable, flexible, organized, detail oriented, and is a positive team player.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Consistently provide prompt and friendly customer service

Process POS transactions efficiently and accurately

Process customer credit cards, cash, and checks; perform other monetary

transactions such as giving and receiving accurate change

Run daily reports and balance daily closeout

Answer telephone and perform light housekeeping tasks

Gain in-depth knowledge of current product line

Maintain clean, neat, safe, and secure work area

Communicate with appropriate teams to ensure that all orders satisfy Sales

Department submission requirements

Review delivery tickets and direct them to the correct route based on the

destination, shipment size, and customer time requirements, as well as other

customer needs for each delivery address

Control driver, truck, and route productivity by ensuring that each truck carries a full

load

Schedule loads to minimize the use of third-party drivers

Select specific trucks for each route based on volume and equipment availability

Maintain a daily dispatch log containing all critical details of the delivery

Properly dispatch orders for the correct arrival time and location

Respond to problematic situations that may occur with drivers or customers

Analyze and prioritize information, make decisions, and solve problems effectively

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Create Sales Orders for sales staff who request deliveries

Other duties as needed

Essential Qualifications:

HS diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years of customer service experience

Minimum 1 year working in a call center

Bilingual skills in Spanish and English

Basic knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook

Confident, customer-focused, and professional

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic mathematical skills including a strong eye for detail

Available to work the required shift hours/days, including Monday to Friday and

Saturdays

Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work, and a valid State issued

driver's license

Desired Qualifications:

Wholesale experience in a garden center, nursery, or farming

Experience or education in horticulture, agriculture or related field

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly

required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently

required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to

walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must

frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100

pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,

color vision and ability to adjust focus.

May vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than indicated here.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently

exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving

mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and extreme cold.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
