CALL CENTER AND FRONT OFFICE SPECIALIST

Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Call Center and Front Office Specialist. This position is a full-time, within the Front Office Department, working at site 1021 Broadway.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check-in patients professionally, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained
  • Verify and update patient insurance and demographic information
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments for all clinical locations
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances while processing payments accurately
  • Assist patients before and after their visits, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic
  • Protect patient confidentiality by maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls daily (minimum 35 per day)
  • Provide accurate information regarding clinic services, procedures, and scheduling
  • Document all calls, messages, and patient interactions accurately in the EMR system
  • Follow communication scripts to ensure consistent, high-quality service
  • Route calls and inquiries to appropriate departments or personnel
  • Make follow-up calls to both active and inactive patients as needed
  • Actively participates as a team member in resolution of problems as they are identified.
  • Analyzes current procedures, bringing suggestions for improvement to the attention of team members and supervisor for consideration.
  • Communicate with our referring doctors and their practices as needed.
  • Attend trainings and educational opportunities to remain current in best practices
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines
  • Attend all team, staff and mandatory organizational training and meetings
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Electronic medical record knowledge needs preferred (Medent EMR)
  • Fluency in both English and preferred language both verbal and written
  • Previous experience in a call center or customer service role preferred
  • Ability to meet daily quota of 70 calls per day
  • Knowledge of computers, some medical terminology, procedures, and medications
  • Proven ability to work and participate as a team player

Hourly Rate: $16.50-$16.50 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
