Description

Summary:Tests, calibrates, and repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating calibration standards by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment.
• Participates in on-the-job training and related formal education.
• Operates computer software for instrument controllers/computers following established formats and programs. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of internal and proprietary software.
• Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
• Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
• Measures parts for conformity with specifications.
• Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.
• Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment.
• Estimated 10-30% off-site travel to nuclear power plants for field testing services.

Qualifications
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: HS/GED completion. Two-year degree from tech school or equivalent is preferred.
Language Ability: Fluent in English. Ability to read, write reports and business correspondence and procedure manuals in English.
Math Ability: Basic mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Office 365 and Adobe and the ability to learn proprietary software.
Certificates and Licenses: Clean driving record required
Travel: Potential off-site field service travel. May include local or domestic travel in the United States. Travel to Nuclear facilities for testing services likely. Requirements include clean background, and banned substance check to obtain access to said facilities. Travel may account for 15% of position responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
