Providence Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated Cafeteria Worker for our esteemed education client in the Greater Birmingham, AL area. This pivotal role involves preparing and serving nutritious meals to students within the district, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and maintaining a clean working environment. This position offers a regular schedule aligned with the school year's business hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Food Preparation and Serving: Prepare and serve food items to students, ensuring proper food handling, portion sizes, and temperature control to meet health standards and student satisfaction.

- Kitchen and Cafeteria Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and cafeteria areas to uphold safety and health regulations. This includes cleaning utensils, equipment, and various preparation and serving areas.

- Inventory Management: Organize food, condiments, and supplies to ensure availability and security of items.

- Support and Training: Assist and mentor student workers to promote a safe, efficient, and educational work environment.

- Equipment Upkeep: Report any equipment malfunctions and maintain all areas and equipment in a sanitary and safe condition, adhering to health standards.

- Professional Development: Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, workshops, etc., as required to stay informed and perform job duties effectively.

- Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations of the school's nutrition program.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices related to food preparation, presentation, and distribution.

- Understanding of personal sanitation and hygiene regulations.

- Ability to deliver excellent customer service and engage in effective public relations.

- Proficiency in following verbal and written instructions, procedures, and safety standards.

- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.

Compensation:

This position offers a starting wage of $15 per hour. It is a temp-to-perm opportunity, providing a pathway to permanent employment based on performance and fit.
