SCHOOL CAFETERIA MANAGER
Salary Range: Classified employee salary schedule
Length of Contract: 180 days
Summary of Position:
The Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager is assigned a specific kitchen with responsibilities for preparing and serving food to the students and adults.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Supervises the food service staff by assigning work duties and training.
- Must be efficient in preparing and serving students and adults meals. Must comply with the State, Federal, and USDA rules.
- Inventories food and supplies to make sure it is available to meet the menu requirements.
- Prepares meals to meets the menu requirements, or if needed to substitutes items to meet all meal requirements.
- Manages daily production sheets with meal count.
- Maintains equipment, stockroom, freezer and walk in for the purpose of a clean and safe work area. Must comply with the current health standards to ensure the safety of prepared foods.
- Reports equipment problems to the Director if repairs are needed.
- Must learn the point of service system to enter daily meal counts, collects payments from students and adults for meals, and enter into the POS system.
- Prepares letters to parents to inform them of their student's outstanding meal balances.
- Adaptable to new and changing situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED and must pass a background check.
- Completion of Manager 1 and Manager 2 training program.
- Attend meetings and workshops to meet the 10 hours of annual professional training.
- Be ServSafe certified.
- Excellent work attendance is necessary.
