Job Title: CAD AdministratorJob Description

The CAD Administrator will be responsible for supporting multiple project managers with oversight of approximately 10-15 projects at any given time. The successful candidate will work throughout the service territory to provide administrative support to the Project Managers and Planners, and assistance as needed in support of planning meetings, accounts payable, project tracking, client communications and support, data entry and reporting workload assessments, assisting in the pre-construction/construction planning processes by crafting and supervising action items and leading project team member adherence. The CAD Administrator will collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams, which often consist of 30 or more members. Additional duties include assisting the project manager with all project-related support tasks, such as preparation of progress reports, tracking of project achievements, schedules, and budgets, and establishing, presenting, and applying project procedures, directives, and bulletins to ensure compliance with client policies and procedures. The role also involves supporting, planning, and coordinating multiple projects, including supervising and reporting project status, and coordinating activities and schedules to ensure timely delivery. The successful candidate will also craft and maintain project documentation, including version control, distribution, document storage/retention in sophisticated document libraries, and access control.

Responsibilities
  • Support multiple project managers with oversight of 10-15 projects simultaneously.
  • Provide administrative support to Project Managers and Planners.
  • Assist in planning meetings, accounts payable, project tracking, client communications, and data entry.
  • Support pre-construction/construction planning processes by crafting and supervising action items.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams of 30 or more members.
  • Assist project managers with preparation of progress reports, tracking of project achievements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Establish, present, and apply project procedures, directives, and bulletins.
  • Support, plan, and coordinate multiple projects to ensure timely delivery.
  • Craft and maintain project documentation, including version control, distribution, document storage/retention, and access control.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, design, and drafting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Power Distribution engineering software tools.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models (e.g., SPIDA, TOWER, SAG10, MFAD, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, AUD, MicroStation).
  • Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards (e.g., WAC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, GO 95/128).
  • Familiarity with construction and constructability practices, principles, and standards.
  • Experience with drafting and design practices and related engineering practices.
  • Experience reviewing rough sketches, drawing specifications, and creating conceptual drawings in computer-aided design software.
  • Experience finalizing engineering product drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and quality specifications in compliance with design standards and procedures.
  • Experience conducting quality review on designs, checking for inaccuracies, omissions, or compliance issues, and providing recommendations.
  • Effective resource and project planning, decision making, and results delivery.
  • Ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • General computer skills (email, Microsoft Office).
Work Environment

This position is based in an in-office setting in Cary. The work environment includes a standard office setting with access to necessary technologies and equipment for performing job duties effectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
